The contracting committee has proposed the UTE IDECONSA-TRAUXIA as the successful bidder for the expansion of the Teruel Airport terminal building. Pre-award documentation has been requested, with the deadline for submission being March 25, 2025. Once submitted and deemed correct, the contract will be awarded for 1,590,244.58 € (excluding VAT) and a 12-month completion period.

The building's expansion will allow for more office space, allowing for the construction of a large-capacity hall for conferences, press conferences, educational and outreach activities, among others. In addition, the airport is investing in this expansion to create a catering space that will serve the ever-growing workforce of the entire complex. The catering area is designed to consist of a dining room that will include a self-service area, a bar and checkout counters, and a kitchen area.

The construction project includes the construction of a two-story building, which will be located next to the main entrance and is designed to maintain the greatest possible visibility of the air traffic control area and allow views of the hangars. The necessary renovation work will be carried out on the first floor to connect the two buildings. To make the expansion possible, certain spaces in the existing building must be adapted.

Another project underway is the instrumental procedures service at Teruel Airport. The contracting committee has proposed ALG GLOBAL as the successful bidder for the service. The deadline for submitting pre-award documentation is March 18, 2025. Once the documentation is reviewed and deemed correct, the contract will be awarded to the company for an amount of 348,000.00 € (excluding VAT) and 24 months of execution.

This project will facilitate operator accessibility to the airport by configuring RNP APCH instrument approach maneuvers for both runway configurations, as well as standardized PBN instrument departure and arrival maneuvers, compatible with RNAV1 (DME or GNSS) or RNP-1 specifications, and by modifying airspaces.

To implement these instrument approach maneuvers, a project must be developed consisting of flight design and/or airspace structures (data acquisition, validation and verification, user consultation, formal design, and design review).

Another tender currently underway is for the cleaning of roads and buildings at Teruel Airport. The tender was published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, and the deadline for submitting bids is March 31, 2025. The tender budget is 95,000 € (excluding VAT), and the execution period is 24 months, extendable for a further 24 months in two 12-month periods.
