Teruel Airport is still committed to continuing to grow through 2025, and is therefore planning to invest in new infrastructure and services throughout this year.
Work is underway on the paving of the parking platform phase III, which will allow the expansion of said space with an additional paved surface of 210 m x 165 m, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in the first half of the year for an execution amount of €2,017,724.52 (VAT excluded).
Another of the works being carried out is the expansion of the phase V parking area, which will allow for increased parking capacity for large aircraft in the new PIGA area of the airport. It is scheduled for completion at the end of 2025 for a cost of €12,080,179.87 (VAT excluded).
Another of the major projects that will begin this year is the work on the hangar and production facility, which is the most expensive project carried out at the airport since its creation. It is scheduled to begin in January 2025, with a duration of 20 months and a cost of €39,774,382.68 (VAT excluded). This project strengthens the airport's commitment to HAPS, expanding the airport infrastructure and attracting new companies to its facilities.
Another of the works that is expected to begin this year is the extension of the terminal building. This work will allow the existing building to be doubled, increasing the number of available offices, as well as the construction of a large meeting room where conferences can be held. As part of the expansion of the building, the possibility of installing a canteen service at the airport is being considered, offering this service to all employees of the airport facility.
In the services section, the launch of the TETRA communications service during the first quarter of the year stands out, as well as the construction management of the works mentioned above. In addition, the cleaning, maintenance and support services for operations and the meteorological service will be put out to tender, being recurring contracts for the development of the airport's activity.
Of particular note is the flight procedure design service, which is currently in the tender phase and will allow for instrument approach manoeuvres, as well as instrument departure and arrival manoeuvres and the corresponding modification of airspaces.
Among the concessions planned to be awarded throughout the year, it is worth highlighting the tender for the fuel service concession, which is an essential service for airport activity and is expected to last 7 years.
Other concessions underway include the concession of land for the construction of a new paint hangar, which would allow for the expansion of the activity already being carried out at the airport, as well as the start of investment within the concessioned land for the construction of an aircraft recycling plant in the PIGA area.
In the areas of Quality and the Environment, the renewal of the ISO 9001 seals for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management is planned, aiming to provide a quality service and environmental protection, thus consolidating the Gold Seal of Business Excellence received at the end of last year.
For all these reasons, 2025 is set to be a year full of investment in new infrastructure and services, which will allow Teruel International Airport to continue to position itself as a world leader in the aeronautical and aerospace sector.
