Construction of a warehouse for an aerospace laboratory at Teruel Airport

Teruel Airport continues its commitment to continued growth through 2025, and for this reason, the draft project and subsequent construction of a 1,500-square-meter facility that will serve as a technological laboratory for the Aragon Institute of Technology (ITA) has been published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform.

The main activity of this facility is the development of a laboratory for aerospace technology research and innovation, primarily in the areas of decarbonization of air transport and climate neutrality in this sector.

For the development of this activity, the Government of Aragon agreed to approve a Collaboration Protocol in April 2025 between the Aragon Institute of Technology (ITA) and the Teruel Airport Consortium, with the aim of creating a Research and Innovation Laboratory at the Teruel Airport facilities. The protocol authorizes the execution of this protocol, which does not entail any contribution from the signatory entities.

The purpose of this protocol is to work toward the common goal (ITA and Consortium) of promoting the development of a series of unique and distinctive technological testing and experimentation infrastructures located at Teruel Airport, as well as participating in regional, national, and international research, development, and innovation projects related to aerospace technologies.
