Companies and experts linked to the aerospace sector will meet this Wednesday, February 1, at the conference organized by the Department of Economy, Planning and Employment, through the public company Aragón Exterior, in Teruel. Under the title "Teruel: a strategic enclave for the aerospace industry in the world", this event will allow analyzing the evolution of the aeronautical industry in the province in the last decade, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of Teruel Airport, and the future of this sector thanks to the attraction of business investment in this area.
The President of Aragon, Javier Lambán, will be in charge of inaugurating the conference, which will start at 10:00 am in the assembly hall of the Territorial Delegation of the Government of Aragon in Teruel.
Next, there will be a first intervention, focused on the aeronautical industry and the objective of turning Teruel Airport into the largest aeronautical maintenance center in Europe, moderated by Inés Villa, manager of the AERA aerospace cluster. Participating in it will be Pedro Sáez, director of Tarmac Aragón; Martin O'Connell, CEO of IAC; Alejandro Ibrahím, general director of the Teruel Airport and president of the Aragon aerospace cluster AERA; and Patricia Utrillas, provincial director of INAEM..
The second planned intervention will be oriented towards the aerospace sector in general. Under the title "To the conquest of the stratosphere", it will have the participation of Alfredo Serrano, general director in Spain of Sceye; Raúl Verdú, co-founder and director of Business Development at PLD Space; Andy Elson, managing director of Elson Space Engineering; and Ramón Tejedor, managing director of Aragón Exterior.
The day's program will continue with a presentation by José Luis Quirós, director of Maintenance for Qatar Airways, on Teruel's leadership position in the aeronautical industry, and the intervention of the director of the Space Technical Office of the Commissioner for PERTE Aeroespacial, Héctor Guerrero, who will explain the technical aspects and implications of this PERTE as an opportunity for the sector in Teruel and Aragón.
The Consejera of Economy, Planning and Employment, Marta Gastón, will be in charge of closing the event, which will conclude with a live demonstration of drones by the company Delsat.
