Public tender for the expansion of the terminal building of Teruel Airport
On December 23, 2024, the tender for the extension of the terminal building of Teruel Airport was published on the State Contracting Platform (PLACE).
Due to the constant growth of activity at the airport, action has been required to double the space for offices, rooms and catering. It is equipped with new offices, as well as a large-capacity room in which conferences, press conferences, teaching and informative activities, among others, can be held. In addition to this, the airport is committed to creating a catering space on the ground floor in this expansion to serve the workforce of the entire complex, which already exceeds 700 employees from the different companies. The catering area is designed to be composed of a dining room that will include a self-service area, a bar and cash registers, and the kitchen area. A concession for the catering service is subsequently proposed to be put out to tender.
The construction project approved by the Governing Council proposes the construction of a building attached to the terminal, as an extension of the same, with two floors, which will be located next to the main access and is configured under the premise of maintaining the greatest possible visibility of the air control area and allowing views of the hangars. On the first floor, the necessary renovation works will be carried out to connect the two buildings. To make the extension possible, it is necessary to adapt certain spaces in the existing building.

The base tender budget for the project amounts to 1,608,940.10 euros (VAT excluded) and a term of execution of 12 months. The deadline for submitting offers ends on January 31, 2025 and its award is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2025.
