The President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, participated in the inauguration this afternoon of the aircraft painting hangar of the company International Aerospace Coating Spain (IAC) at the Teruel Airport, an entity to which he thanked for its "commitment" to the Aragonese territory and with which he wants the "collaboration not only to be maintained, but to increase for a long time."
"The success of IAC will decisively contribute to the development of Teruel Airport and, consequently, its province and all of Aragon," said Azcón. And the arrival of IAC at the Teruel facilities gives rise to a new activity, that of aircraft painting, which is added to the recycling and maintenance of aircraft and the aerospace activity that the company PLD Space already carries out in these facilities.
IAC's commitment to Teruel Airport is given by its location and climate, which offers suitable conditions to operate in the world of aerospace maintenance, to which is added the possibility, now a reality, of having a hangar for aircraft painting activity. Both opportunities, taken together, have led the Irish company to establish its first facility in Spain in Teruel.
The landing of IAC at the Teruel Airport has already generated 82 jobs: 62 painters or preparers, another 10 with a profile technical, administrative or management and 10 more from other locations to provide support in the start-up of the installation.
IAC is the world leader in aircraft paint, interiors and graphics. With 11 state-of-the-art facilities in the US and Europe, it has capacity for 28 aircraft lines and processes more than 800 painting events per year. It works in all segments of the aviation industry, including OEM, commercial, military and general aviation. IAC's European headquarters is located at Shannon Airport (Ireland) and the US headquarters is in Irvine, California (USA).
