Participation in the eMobility Expo World 2026 international congress

Teruel Airport and the AERA cluster participated in the eMobility World Congress in Málaga, which became the European epicenter of sustainable mobility in aviation, land, and maritime transport on March 10 and 11, 2026. This international congress was dedicated to analyzing the future of transport and new technologies applied to mobility. The event was held at the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Center (FYCMA) and brought together thousands of professionals, companies, and institutions from around the world linked to the smart mobility sector.

Some of the major challenges facing the transport sector in the coming years were addressed. Key topics included the electrification of aviation and automobiles, the development of autonomous vehicles, digital connectivity in transport systems, and the use of alternative energies such as green hydrogen. Issues related to charging infrastructure, CO₂ emission reduction, and European policies aimed at decarbonizing mobility were also analyzed. The event includes a large exhibition area where technology companies, vehicle manufacturers, startups, and energy companies present their latest innovations.

The CEO and Manager of the Teruel Airport Consortium, Alejandro Ibrahim, participated in this Congress as moderator of the round table discussion on sustainable fuel, entitled "The New Paradigm: Zero Emissions in Aviation." Panelists included representatives from T&E, Aertec, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the University of Valencia. Topics discussed included sustainable SAF and eSAF fuels for aircraft, the potential use of hydrogen as fuel, and an analysis of its advantages and disadvantages for aviation. Future options for aviation were also explored, such as electric aircraft and the sustainability of airports as potential energy hubs with minimal CO₂ emissions, as well as possible government measures to support these types of future initiatives.

In addition, Alejandro Ibrahim also participated as a speaker in the other panel on smart airports, presenting the growth and evolution of Teruel Airport to become the largest MRO and long-term storage center in Europe. The panelists were Málaga Airport, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and Teruel Airport. He explained how an aeronautical industrial airport like Teruel Airport has become a benchmark in the sector, not by managing passengers, but by handling aircraft, with industrial, logistical, and MRO activities, addressing innovations such as stratospheric flights with HAPS (High Altitude Platform Systems) and eVTOL (Electronic Vertical Landing) aircraft. The discussion focused on the passenger experience in the context of digitalization and the new innovative challenges facing global air transport.

The congress also had a significant business collaboration component. Throughout the event, business meetings and networking sessions were held to facilitate the exchange of ideas and the creation of strategic alliances between companies, institutions, and research centers.

With the celebration of the eMobility Expo World Congress 2026, an international debate on the future of transport was held, in which experts, companies and policymakers shared ideas and projects that seek to transform the way people and goods move, opting for a more sustainable, efficient and connected model.
