Teruel Airport receives two accolades on the same day that validate its current status and investment capacity

Teruel airport project honored at COIIAR's 75th Anniversary Industry Gala and wins "Best Investment" at the 3rd Cotizar Awards

Teruel, September 10, 2026. Teruel Airport received two major accolades yesterday, highlighting its evolution into an industrial hub and its capacity to attract and generate investment: a special recognition at the Industry Gala marking the 75th anniversary of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Aragon and La Rioja (COIIAR), and the "Best Investment" award at the 3rd Cotizar Awards, organized by the digital media outlet *Hoy Aragón*.

These two awards offer complementary messages that encapsulate the transformation undergone by Teruel Airport: a project firmly established today, with a proven track record and immense potential for future growth and investment.

Recognizing the industry's present, past, and future.

The first of these honors was presented during the Industry Gala held at the Zaragoza Auditorium to mark COIIAR's 75th anniversary, themed "Present, Past, and Future."

Alejandro F. Ibrahim Perera, the airport's Director General, accepted the special recognition during the gala, which brought together a broad representation of Aragon's business, industrial, institutional, and academic sectors.

The airport shared the spotlight with some of the region's leading business and institutional entities—also honored during the ceremony—such as Saica Group, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CAF, SAMCA Group, Endesa, the Government of Aragon, BSH Home Appliances Group, and the University of Zaragoza.

The gala, held at the Zaragoza Auditorium, was attended by numerous dignitaries and concluded with an address by the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón.

This recognition serves as a vote of confidence in the evolution of Teruel Airport, which has transformed from a specialized airport facility into a major industrial hub for the aeronautical, aerospace, and technology sectors, driving new business, skilled employment, investment, and strategic projects.

Best Investment Award

Earlier that day, Teruel Airport also received the Best Investment Award at the 3rd Cotizar Awards, held at Finca Las Hiedras (El Cachirulo) in Zaragoza.

The award was accepted by Octavio López, the Government of Aragon's Regional Minister for Housing, Development, Logistics, and Territorial Cohesion, who also serves as President of the Teruel Airport Consortium.

Organized by *Hoy Aragón*, the Cotizar Awards recognize excellence and contributions to Aragon's economic and social development across sectors such as business, law, commerce, and technology.

The Best Investment Award specifically recognizes a defining characteristic of Teruel Airport today: its ability to attract industrial and technological investment while generating economic activity and jobs.

Two accolades, one project

The fact that both awards were received on the same day reflects the significant stature Teruel Airport has achieved.

On one hand, the recognition from COIIAR highlights the airport's track record, current status, and future prospects within the Aragonese industrial landscape. On the other, the Cotizar Best Investment Award underscores its economic, industrial, and strategic capacity for continued growth.

Teruel Airport is currently home to 15 permanently established companies and a workforce of around 1,000 people. It continues to add new infrastructure and activities spanning aircraft maintenance, parking, painting, recycling, aerospace, drones, airships, defense, and advanced technologies.

The facility is thus entering a new phase of expansion, with major investment projects reinforcing its position as one of Aragon's key industrial and technological assets.

In a single day, Teruel Airport has received two accolades that spotlight the project's two greatest strengths: what it has already accomplished and its extraordinary potential for future growth.
